Hi, I am Imke Hoek. I studied interior architecture at Artez University of the Arts in Zwolle, the Netherlands. After four years I graduated and now I have a bachelor in interior architecture and design.

 

I have always been fascinated with nature design, and I use it as a big source of inspiration for my designs. When we are in nature, we do not think about our problems anymore. You can feel at peace in a way you will never experience anywhere else. Because we spend a large part of our lives inside, I want to bring that feeling of nature into our buildings.

If we learn from how nature takes form and we implement some of those aspects into our buildings, I think that we can create an environment that has a similar effect on us as nature does. 

During my final year, I did research on how I could take those aspects of Nature and translate them into an architectural form. You can find my graduation research here. In the future, I will continue to take inspiration from nature and learn how we can make our experiences in buildings as positive as possible.
